Some chatters want to share information about their gender or their pets to other people in chat - sharing this type of information is completely voluntary and each user's choice. As laid out in the chat rules disclosing of other people's personal information is strictly prohibited, but we offer a way to have certain personal information verified by moderators to help building up trust between people in chat.
1 - Check Profile
All verified profiles are kept by Koala, our room bot (robot). To find out if a user has been verified, anybody can ask Koala for a profile. If the user has been verified, Koala will reply with the user profile, otherwise it will tell you that no profile is available.

2 - Getting Verified
Any user can get their gender and pet ownership verified. If you want to get verified please talk to a moderator, they will explain to you the verification process in detail. Any verification is completely voluntary and optional if you are not comfortable with the process then don't do it.
Here are some basic information about verification:
> Verification is not a right, but a privilege for those regular chatters who have become a part of the room and don't just drop in occasionally. If you want to get verified you should be active in the room for at least 2-4 weeks.
> Only registered users can get verified - please make sure your nickname is registered before you ask for verification. (Registered users have a password to log into chat)
> Verification is done by a short webcam session with a moderator, at this time gender and/or pet ownership information can be verified. If you don't want to be on webcam or if you don't have a webcam then you can not get verified.
> If you want to get verified, talk to Harrie or Moose about it. You can ask for any
moderator from the list of available mods to verify you - but there is no guarantee that you
actually will be verified by this person. A moderator will be assigned to verify you, if you
don't feel comfortable with this choice, please talk to Harrie or Moose and we will find a solution.
> At the agreed upon date/time for verification, be in the chatroom as usual. The moderator will ask you to open a webcam session and a private chat while you are in the chatroom. Please agree on the type of cam session beforehand (Yahoo, MSN, ...) Have paper and pencil ready.
> For verification the moderator will talk to you privately in chat and ask you to write down a word or number on a piece of paper. Show the paper to the cam so the moderator can verify that you are the person they are talking to in chat. If you want to verify pet ownership (like dog-owner or similar) make sure your pet is there, you will need to show the pet on cam as well.
> During verification the moderator will also make sure you are of legal age. If there are any doubts about that, verification will be suspended and Harrie or Moose will take it from there.
> Do not be offensive on cam! Moderators will hardly find it funny if you are not able to act like an adult - offensive behavior at verification can get you permanently banned from chat. This means don't show your genitals or inappropriate body parts. If there is still doubt about your gender on cam there will be other ways for verification.
